During the ruffed grouse hunting season we take time to focus on the American Woodcock. This year we found some hot spots that held birds in good densities. Most of the areas we found woodcock in was young aspen growths. I would say the 5-8 year old stands held a good number of birds. Most of the good hunting was found on public land with some on private land spots, all in northern Wisconsin, USA.
